  • Regular teaching practice and lesson observations are included.
  • On a 120+ hour teacher-training course, you will receive a minimum of 360 minutes teaching practice.
  • All teaching practice takes place within the school with classes of a maximum 15 students per class.
  • Each teaching session varies in time and focuses on different English language areas.
  • Trainees are given plenty of time to prepare for these lessons and are supported by the various trainers.
  • The students in the class are all learning English as a Foreign Language and you will be informed of their level prior to the class.
  • A trainer will be present to observe the class and give both oral and written feedback after the session.

Having a CELT certificate, along with a university degree, is your passport to employment worldwide. You will qualify for employment with private English language schools that are recognised by the Department of Education & Science in Ireland. Visit the ACELS site for more information about accredited schools at. The CELT is also accepted for employment in other jurisdictions, e.g., accredited schools in the UK and across the EU, Asia and Australia. The course also includes workshops on finding teaching work at good quality schools in Ireland and abroad after the course, and trainees following the TEFL course at Swan will, of course, have a foot in the door for future teaching work at Atlas.
